Video: Audi RS5 gets on track

This is not, we shall concede, the most adrenaline-filled six minutes of action ever committed to celluloid. However, if you want a good close look at the Audi RS5 - Ingolstadt's V8-packing, 331kW BMW M3 Coupe rival - then it does the job very nicely indeed.

You can read all about the RS5 in our news story, but the video clip confirms a few things. First, that the two-door should, in the right spec, be a proper Q-car: choose a dark colour, paint the front splitter in black, delete a few of the silvery bits of jewellery and you're looking at a seriously stealthy weapon.

Second, it's not bad on the ear, is it? Clearly it's not being given the full Stig treatment, but that V8 sounds mighty promising.

Excited about the RS5? Or is it just too understated? Let us know what you think. And make sure you keep watching until the three-minute mark, when an old friend of ours makes a welcome appearance...

Nice car, though I think Audi should have let the driver drive the car to it's potential, not at some leisurely Sunday driver speed.
