Ferrari's California supercab bucks credit crunch trend

Ferrari California

This damn credit crunch is hitting everyone. Petrol’s too expensive to drive anywhere, SUVs are going down the swanny, new supercars are… well, they’re um… selling out.

The cash-strapped-ignoring Ferrari California has sold out until the end of 2010, so if you want one you can’t until 2011. That's over two years. Grrrr.

Ferrari’s making 2,000 Californias a year, and has proven that an all-new model that doesn’t replace anything in the current line-up can work as well as anything else.

It’s a hit.

At €179,000, the supercabrio hasn’t been harmed by the world money crisis, and so we hope that that gives Ferrari enough encouragement to make a coupe version of this, cos it looks much better with the roof up.

And even though we can't afford one, we like seeing Ferraris.

Wonder if Michael Schumacher’s got one yet? He certainly seems to like it...
