Bridging the gap between Audi's flagship Q7 SUV and the A6 Avant estate is the new Allroad.
Based on the A6 rather than the Q7, the Allroad uses the same Quattro four-wheel drive as the A6 range, but greater ground clearance and adjustable air suspension give it more off-road ability.
Engines for the Allroad are also shared with the A6, so there's a 2.7 V6 turbodiesel and petrol 4.2 V8.
The diesel has the choice of six-speed manual or automatic gearboxes, while the V8 sticks with an auto only.
The Allroad follows current Audi thinking and has a large droop-snoot grille, while just underneath is a token sump guard that's more about looks than protection.
Sales in the UK should begin in September with prices kicking off at £30,000.
