’Tis the season for pointy-chinned facelifts. Yesterday we saw the revised Kia Cee'd, and today it's the turn of the Mazda CX-7 to receive a bit of sharp-edged botoxing.
The facelifted SUV will be officially unveiled at the Frankfurt show next month with a clean-running version of Mazda's 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine.
It'll feature something called a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system, which works in a similar way to Audi's 'AdBlue' technology, adding urea (yep, that's exactly the stuff you think it is) to exhaust gases to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by 40 per cent.
Mazda says this is the first time such technology has been fitted to a Japanese diesel, and that the system will only require refilling during scheduled servicing.
No, it won't save you money on your road tax bill, but it might afford you just a smidgen of eco-smugness in your big SUV.
We'll see the CX-7 in the metal in Frankfurt next month.
CX-7’s wee facelift
Mazda’s SUV gets a pointier front end and reduced nitrous oxide emissions… thanks to urea

To AshHorne Nitrogen Oxide (NO) is a pollutant gas Nitrous Oxide (N2O) is what they use for power boosts

Without the chrome surroundings I think it 's a good update with Mazda's new brand recognition.
