In the Top Gear Guide to Unlikely Automotive World Powerhouses, Thailand ranks somewhere around number 72. Fact.
But that hasn't stopped Nissan throwing the spotlight on the home of ladyboys,
using it as launchpad for the new Micra. And by lucky happenstance, it will
also qualify as Thailand's first ‘Eco-car'. Which is also a fact.
So far all we have are this sketches. And by the time the conceptiness has
been squeezed out of them, we reckon the car will look almost exactly like a,
erm, Micra.
Details are scarce at the moment, but we expect to hear more when the Tokyo
show opens in a few weeks from now.
However, we do know that Nissan will launch the car in more than 150 countries, one
of which will be ours, from March next year. That's 78 per cent of the world.
Which again, is a FACT.
Who says Top Gear isn't educational, eh?

I thought that was a new Kia Picanto when I first laid eyes on it. And why did they keep the "bug-eyed" look? That was the problem with the current Micra. And the everlasting hip-replacement image. That will not sell hugely well over here. Especially if Rose Kiln in Reading isn't the only place where their showroom is right opposite Fiat's. Nissan Pixo or Fiat 500? Micra or Punto? Come on. The sales difference speaks for itself, according to a salesman there.

not again another ugly generation of micra in the line, the current one is horrible looking, the one before that was acceptable. these rubbishy cars are terrible, this is like nissan is trying to make a hyundai, i see why these crappy cars are bought by people who dont like cars too much and therefore by stepping down into rubbish like this it will be easier to push them into becoming public transport users thus trying to distroy the car. buy a fiat panda instead it comes with one extra that these cars can never possibly have and that is character.
