A gambling man would never have put money on this. In the vein of BMW's M Sport and AMG over at Mercedes, Volkswagen has just announced that it is creating a special division to handle its new performance models.
‘Volkswagen R GmbH' gets new ‘R' headquarters in Wolfsburg and even 350 ‘R' workers all of its very own. Trouble is, we're not quite sure what they're going to find to do.
They've already made the Golf and Scirocco R after all, so what on earth next? Seven-seat Touran R? Urban Fox R? With the Polo GTI yet to be launched we can only imagine they're fiddling with a Passat at the moment. Or twiddling their ‘R' thumbs.

I would love to see a FOX R or even the Touran R, it'll give the cars some character, and so far, VW need it.

CC R and Touareg R would be nice to see. Competitive offerings to match up against other German or Japanese rivals.

@skul THAT WOULD BE FANTASTIC! 265bhp 2.0T through a 4MOTION system! Epic! Or they could use a V6 but i cant see people actually buying that these days :P
