Road test
[Rapped to a beat something like this: dum dumma kttch, dum dumma ra ta ta ta, etc...]
I was high-rollin' in my Lexus, ya'll
My hoochie was ridin' next to me, ya'll
The sounds were pumpin' out, ya'll
I had a chronic hunger,
and these wheels were gonna help me sort it
It was a fine night for a drive-by. Hustlin' through the mean streets, this GS300 Sport was drawin' all the looks with its low-down stance. Dumped 25mm to the floor with harder springs and custom gas dampers, I was sittin' right at eye level - but no-one dared to meet my stare.
But they had to look. The Lexus looked bitchin', its High Intensity Discharge headlamps givin' off a wicked glint. The Sport's mesh grille and road-scrapin' spoilers let them know this was the hardest car on the street, yet maximum reespec was saved for its wheels. The wheels, homie, the wheeeels - road-suckin' 18 inchers, with nine spokes and rollin' on 245/40 Pirelli P Zero rubber.
I dropped the electric seats closer to the floor, gripped the grey-on-black sports steering wheel and notched down the black wood shifter knob through another of the auto 'box's five ratios. The grey leather chairs weren't rockin', but their easy-clean ability might be needed later if the things got messy. And my home boys could stretch out in the back, no problem.
Now the bass was throbbin' and I powered on to the action. I knew the three-litre, 24-valve straight-six engine could give up 218bhp to haul my ass outta there. Hittin' 0-62mph in 8.4 seconds and rollin' on to 143mph, but I just couldn't risk drawin' those blue lights.
It also had the handling to blow away the lesser players, with those big tyres and that Vehicle Stability Control system. But it was still soft enough to stay cool, helped by a flick of the croooze control.
Homin' on my target, I eased off the power and the engine dropped into silent stealth mode. I wound down the window, leaned out and then I opened up:
"A double Whopper, a portion of onion rings and a large strawberry shake please, I hollered as I drove by. I'm feeling baaad tonight, ya'll."
