Road test

If the establishment isn't your cup of tea, then you could try going against the trend and take the Lexus GS430 for a test drive. OK, so it's not exactly a classic in the mould, courtesy of those frumpy looks, but the rest of the car is more than up to scratch. The engine is a cracker, the automatic gearbox behaves impeccably and the rear-drive chassis delivers surprisingly accomplished driving pleasure. Add to that the famous Lexus reliability and customer satisfaction, plus a hugely long standard kit list, and that test drive sounds more promising.
