Sean Connery just doesn’t make crap movies. Nor does Tom Hanks, really, or not since he left that dog of an actor, Hooch, that was letting him down. George Lucas, obviously, is another good example of foolproofishness.
Clearly, reliability is a powerful thing for a brand to have. You’ll never hand over your money purely because Jennifer Aniston is in a film, or not unless you’re deranged anyway.
For car companies, reliability is desperately important. People buy one car that turns out to be a lemon and not only will they not come back, they’ll trash that brand to everyone they ever meet, for the rest of their lives. Veyron crash vid!
Last week, we showed you a tragic video of a Bugatti Veyron drowning slowly in a Texan lagoon. This video made us sad. Now, improbably, footage has surfaced of the multi-million dollar hypercar actually plunging into the water. (Thanks to all those who tipped us off, by the way.)
We can't decide whether it's hugely coincidental that some good ol' boys just so happened to be filming the Bug moments before it crashed into the lake... or completely understandable.

Webber a winner?
The music's about to stop in the Formula One paddock's game of musical chairs, and we'll soon get an idea of who is really going where in 2010.
At the top of the list has to be Jenson Button. Mercedes-Benz announced last night that it's bought a controlling interest in his current team, Brawn GP, and it will be known as Mercedes Grand Prix next year. But with the genius of Adrian Newey in his corner, Mark Webber should line up in Bahrain next March with his best ever chance of claiming an F1 world championship.
