The end for Indy 300

Interesting noises coming from the V8 Supercar megalopolis this week, with the Indy 300 race killed-off and rebranded as the Gold Coast SuperCarnivale, and the announcement of a $2.5 million V8 Grand Slam prize.

The street track around the beach has been almost halved in length, and the two 300km races over the weekend will be run as mini enduro events, with two drivers per car. The key element here is, though, that every team is required to sign up an international driver...
