Man tries to jump F1 car, fails
Drama for an otherwise-routine Red Bull F1 demo in Makuhari New City in Chiba prefecture, Japan on the weekend when a local marshal completely misjudged, well, everything about crossing a live track, skittling into the path of Sebastien Buemi. Our mystery idiot remarkably escaped unharmed, while Red Bull is investigating the incident. You'd imagine that wouldn't take too long...
Still, Red Bull's penchant for taking F1 to the streets must give proponents of OHS rules everywhere nightmares. Barriers between the cars and the crowds are often minimal if there at all - as evidenced at last year's mid-town demo in Perth - and it wouldn't take much for a car to fire off over a bump and clobber a spectator or two. Where do you draw the line, though?
