Riding with kids in trucks still legal
The parents of Arizona, USA, have a unique set of priorities. While a deeply Christian and Republican state, it seems that the supposed ‘family values' that ride with these two beliefs have been lost, literally, in the back of a ute.
Arizona law allows drivers to transport children, unharnessed, in the back of their pick-up trucks once the seats in the cab are full. Amazingly, it is illegal to transport an elk carcass via the same method without having it firmly secured. By this logic, who seems to be the more important member of society?
Should it be passed, a new Bill, titled HB 2089, will prohibit the much loved past-time of endangering one's child at 110km/h - it will require that pickup-bed passengers under 18 be either belted or helmeted.
Rep. Matt Heinz, the bill's sponsor, stated, "A projectile 12-year-old poses just as much of a traffic safety risk as a projectile elk - not to mention that it's your kid."
I'm sold.

Well, that's what you get when your laws are made by some Creationist inbred hillbillies.
