Video: Aston V12 Vantage vs LMP1
The Aston Vantage V12 is made for telly. Remember Jeremy’s emotional drive two series ago? With the helicopter and the mood music? That made men cry.
And now Aston has made its own film. Usually car maker’s marketing videos are smellier than a Cheddar cheesemonger, but not this time. This one’s properly shot, with expensive cameras and stuff, at a mediumly-secret and very damp location in Staffordshire. And there’s a dramatic twist in the middle, which we won’t spoil for you now.
Clue? The 6.0-litre V12 doesn’t just live in the Vantage. The same engine – with a few mods for, er, endurance – goes in another Aston. One that you wouldn’t usually see on the road, but would donate a testicle in order to do so. And that testicle might be saved if you watch this.
Another clue? The mystery car is driven by Aston’s Le Mans racer Sam Hancock.
Got it yet? No? Just watch the vid (EDIT: or just read the headline or look at the picture our surprise-killing editor decided to use)…

Cool vid but next year's new LMP rules at LeMans makes this engine worthless ( naturally aspirated 8 cylinders maximum and/or turbocharged 6 cylinders in petrol or { diesel - as in new Audi R18 TDI 3.7 V-6 }.
