Caparo gets hotter
Remember the
Caparo T1, the race-car-for-the-road that set the world alight last
year? Well, there’s an even hotter version about to launch called Race
Extreme.
Those mad boffins down at Caparo obviously decided that 428kW from the
standard T1’s 3.5-litre V8 just wasn’t toasty enough, so have boosted
power up to a scorching 466kW. That’s good for a 0-100km/h time of 2.8
seconds, while the Race Extreme will hit 160km/h in 5.8 seconds and top
out at a properly roasting 334km/h.
The Race Extreme also gets a fully adjustable suspension system, along
with a new tunable ECU, allowing owners to tweak the settings of the
engine and sequential gearbox to their hearts’ content.
Even better, if you want to stay cool in your T1 – out of the harmful
burning rays of the sun, of course – Caparo has just the answer: a
plexiglass canopy and air conditioning system.
