Video: Ferrari F40 vs 599 GTB

They say the last thing a heavyweight loses is his punch. They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks. They say you should cover your mouth when yawning so the devil doesn't crawl in.

Clearly, ‘they' adhere to many a different code of conduct. But whatever: this is a video of a Ferrari 599 GTB going head to head against a Ferrari F40. This is a good video.

We're not really sure why Ferrari decided to produce this video, but do you really need a reason? After all, the 599 GTB is indeed a mighty fine automobile, and the Ferrari F40 is already a legend.

Richard Hammond: the Ferrari F40 vs the Porsche 959

It's got a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 356kW and 576Nm of torque, which makes a 0-100km/h time of 4.1 seconds quite possible, as well as a top speed of 201mph. Essentially, a carbon-fibre, twin-turbo go-kart. Jeremy really really liked it. Richard did too.

The 599 on the other hand, boasts a 6.0-litre V12 with 456 ponies and 607 torques, hits 62mph in 3.7 seconds and rocks on to a top speed of "over 205mph".

Enough stats, enjoy some moving images.
