Focus RS500 revealed
Oh. My. God. Ford has released details and pics showing an exciting new method of torque steering into the nearest hedge/field/lamppost: the Ford Focus RS500.
The limited edition Focus RS500 - just 500 will be built - comes with a tweaked version of the RS's 2.5-litre turbo'd four-pot, producing 257kW and 460Nm of pulling power. Expect Biblical levels of steering chaos as you try to turn the wheel and end up in another dimension.

The new RS500 does the 0-100km/h sprint in just 5.6 seconds - three-tenths faster than standard - and tops out at 262km/h.
Amazingly, Ford's engineers have left the complicated ‘RevoKnuckle' front suspension setup untouched because they reckon it can handle the extra grunt. Helpfully, they spent the remainder of the time thrashing the bejesus out of the RS500 to test its track durability.
The RS500 was nailed non-stop for 500 tortuous laps of the Nurburgring and engineers reckon they can hit an eight-minute lap time.
To give it that unique pub brawler look, the Focus RS500 is finished in Batman-spec ‘Panther' matt black with metallic black 19-inch alloys, a twin-blade rear spoiler and special RS500 numbering plaques.
We very much want to drive this thing. Sideways. And on fire. Actually, we just want to see one in Australia, period. Ford, hello?

WOW IT IS UNBELIEVABLE!!! IT LOOKS COOL , SWEET AND I BET IT IS INSPIRED BY THE LEGENDARY FORD RS2000 IT IS SO FAST FOR A HATCH BACK AND SO POWEEEERFUL!!!!! WELL DONE FORD IF ONLY THE RS500 COULD COME TO AUSTRALIA........

A decent Ford in Australia? It seems like if you want a proper Ford here, you have to make it yourself, i.e. Ford Australia. The best overseas Fords never seem to come here. But seriously, FWD? What the hell? Do they want to kill their customers? I don't care how good this RevoWankle is, it can't be that good. That much power NEEDS AWD. I mean, a hot hatch with this much power would be ten times as good with all four wheels doing the driving. And a hell of a lot safer ...

I don't think Ford has the capacity to bring this awesome beast in Australia., killer ( matte ) paint job.

yeah. we can hope though. i recon we'll be seeing clarkson put this thing through its paces some time soon.
