GM to recall around 162,000 Hummers
Just when we thought we’d heard the last of GM’s craptastic gas guzzler, the Hummer is back in the news this week with its American manufacturer potentially recalling some 162,000 Hummers built between 2006 and 2010 because of a fault with the bonnet louver clip; a fancy way of saying air grille.
It seems that all those Hollywood stars and gangster rappers have been showering Sunset Boulevard with their tacky discarded car bling when driving their H3 Hummers at speed – which is somewhat perplexing to us, as we always thought the Hummer was unable to even match traffic speeds before running out of juice.
According to GM, it’s a simple fix; with some ‘adhesive’ affixed to louver – which to us sounds a lot like gaffer tape, or perhaps a bandaid.
Still, if there were any Hummer evangelists left, perhaps this latest recall will be enough for them to concede the world could do without a suburban spec military vehicle, and hang-up their ten-gallon hat once and for all.

the h3 is a great 4wd car. the grille is only cosmetic. I have had more things fall off my holdens over the years. I thought the vandals who ogle the handsome car tried to pull it off. I glued mine on with glue and it hasn't moved since.

I have a H3 Hummer & i have it at the dealers so many times it is a over rated car,We bought the car in 2007 brand new we noticed some noises & a funny feeling in the steering &the bonnet louvre broke & we replaced itthen they recalled them 8 month later the gearbox has been exchanged already because it was burnt out the day i picked it up the gear cable broke now the immobiliser is faulty & today the mirror in the left hand sun visor has broken.The paint job on it is rubbish.

IMO, Hummers are unfairly rubbished. Yes, they may be rubbish, but if the greenies hate 'em, I love 'em.
