Hennessey-tuned Ford GT hits 378km/h
Anything you can do... John Hennessey can do better. Just yesterday we found a custom Chevy Corvette hitting a 372km/h top speed along the Texas mile.
Fast enough, considering the ‘Vette is constructed from plastic and tissue paper. But Mr Hennessey has gone even faster. He sent TopGear.com a video showing how his 5.4-litre twin-turbo, 895kW Ford GT ran the mile and topped out at 378km/h. "We'll turn up the wick a bit more the next time out," Mr Hennessey assured us.
This, frankly, makes the Chevy's ponderous, leaden and lazy 372km/h seem lackadaisical. More is better. More wins.
Also, listen out for the many squirrels the GT eats as it accelerates down the straight...
Hennessey also makes a 'Venom GT'. It's very fast, and often on fire. We've driven it...
