Hurri’ up
We do, from time to time, give a bit of a kicking to horrendous, misguided Teutonic tuning jobs. Like that Cayenne of Death. But sometimes, sometimes, a modified car turns up that makes us think, ‘Hey, you know, just maybe...'
Like this M6 Hurricane (what is it with the Germans and their wind-based names?) by tuning house G-Power. It looks good, and it goes like effluvium off a particularly sturdy spade-like device.
How does 0-100km/h in 4.4 seconds, 200km/h in less than 10 seconds and a top speed of 366km/h grab you? Quite roughly, we suspect.
That makes the Hurricane the fastest BMW coupe in the world, all thanks to the M6's 5.0-litre V10 - equipped with a shiny new pair of belt-driven superchargers - putting out a massive 559kW and 799Nm, some 50 per cent more than the stock M6.
G-Power says this is a fairly conservative state of tune. Yowch.
Naturally, the Hurricane gets a fat body kit, adjustable suspension and impressive 21-inch wheels. Are we quietly losing the plot, or is the Hurricane actually quite cool? Thoughts please...
Now watch the telly boys take an M6, an Aston V8 Vantage and a Porsche 911 to the Isle of Man:
