Mantide’s mystery buyer

We've got a mystery that needs a-solvin': who's planning on buying a Bertone Mantide?

See, Jason Castriota - the designer of the mental Corvette ZR1-based hypercar - has posted a video on YouTube of his weekend at Goodwood in his $2.6 million ride, in which he speaks about the owner of the next Mantide to be built.

"He's a Brit expat living in America," says Castriota. "He's got a phenomenal car collection including a McLaren F1."

That narrows it down, doesn't it? We know Rowan Atkinson's got a nice F1 tucked away in his garage, but we're not aware of too many others out there.

Castriota continues: "He’s a bit of a gentleman racer, having raced in the F430 Challenge series as well as doing some 24-hour racing with the Porsche GT3."

Is this our old friend Dan Watkins, who we've heard is planning an assault on the Nurburgring lap record? Or another customer?

The rumours we’re hearing from the US are that Jay Leno has put in an order for a Mantide, but he doesn’t really fit Castriota’s description, does he?

Down to you, TopGear.com faithful. Whose name do you reckon is on the Bertone order form?
