Blackbird flies the coop
You may remember the matte black Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG from the Australian Motor Show a couple of months back. Well, the one-off build has found a new home. How much did it go for? "Well north of $550,000," says Mercedes-Benz. That's a neat $100k on top of list for a black paintjob and red badging. And that's all.
The factory has been inundated with requests for matte black AMGs of various flavours since the SLS 'Blackbird' made the rounds of the internet, but it has firmly said nein danke to all of them.
"A plaque on inside of the driver's door states the vehicle is number 1 in an edition of 1, and it will certainly stay that way," says Mercedes-Benz.

It's value can only go up. So yeah... good investment.
