Return of the Saint
‘Tis the season for retro redesigns. Today it’s the turn of Mattias Vocks to dream up a gorgeous reworking of the Volvo P1800.
Vocks is a Koenigsegg engineer by day, but in his spare hours creates modified, retro-modern Volvos. This time he’s turned his attentions to the P1800 – the car driven by Roger Moore in The Saint, if you’re thinking it looks slightly familiar – with the help of Swedish design firm Vizualtech.
OK, it’s only a rendering at this stage, but it’s a good looking rendering, isn’t it? We like those skinny pillars and chromed front end, though we might change the wheels for something a little more classic.
Vocks is keen to put the P1800 into limited production, though, armed with a 4.4-litre V8 nicked from a Volvo XC90 and a big turbocharger to put out around 600bhp through the rear wheels.

NB but I think the older style P1800 front bullbar shape is better.

I love it, it looks so sleek, I've got a 64' at home and they'd definately look great together, I love the way the designer is still using the cow horn bumper design, very slick, when can I get one????

You're aware of China of course, you know it exists, and you're aware that ...
On first assessment, you’d say it was a pretty un-TopGear kind of car – it’ ...

Now that is a stunning car... but seriously, why does everyone have to put gynormous wheels on it? Especially on a retro car - give it some whitewalls or something!
