Dutch TV show contestant runs over host
A contestant on Dutch TV show Who Is The Worst Driver In The Netherlands? has proved his inability in a graphic on-air accident, causing injury to four people. In the course of filming the show, the contestant was given a challenge to drive a Volvo S40 towards a foam wall before swerving at the last minute.
All was going well until that last minute, when the driver, Pim, hit the accelerator instead of the brake, burst through the wall and continued off the track at high speed, still accelerating, into a parked car before running over the show's host.
Headed straight for the parked car, Pim let go of the wheel and closed his eyes while the Volvo continued on a trajectory straight into the host who was standing near the parked car.
The aftermath of the accident was an injured driver, two injured passengers and an injured host.
The accident was part of the show's final episode where it was Pim's last chance to prove he wasn't the Netherlands' worst driver. Needless to say, he wasn't particularly convincing.
