Official pics; new BMW M5 revealed
After yesterday's little oopsy, BMW has acknowledged that the [pics doing the round of the interweb yesterday were, in fact, the new M5 that's set to be unveiled at Shanghai in a couple of weeks. So it's rushed out a nicer set of piccies - but it's still holding onto the important bits, like specs and interior images.
Details are scarce, but expect it to be powered by a grunted-up version of the twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 that's currently in the crazy-ass X5 M soft-road missile. If we had to guess at an output, 425kW sounds like a nice round figure, and a 0-100km/h time of a shade over four seconds should be eminently doable. Ulp.

It'll be interesting to see if BMW's M division pay heed to criticisms that the previous M5 was a bit too complex a thing to set up and drive. No matter - it'll be a booming monster of a sports sedan, no matter what.
