Hammond’s dream Ferrari up at auction
Yes, the very Ferrari Daytona that Richard raced against James' 800kW powerboat a few years back is available to buy. How much? Between $250,000 and $300,000.
You may remember that the 365GTB/4, which auctioneers reckon will fetch $50,000 more than a new 458, lost against James' 130km/h XSR48 boat (replete with carbon fibre convenience) in a race between Portofino, Italy and St Tropez, France. But it's fair to say Hammond had a great deal more fun.
Hamster isn't the only celeb that's driven the 38-year-old Fez. It's had royal buttocks on it, namely HRH the Prince of Wales' - he borrowed it for a weekend back in 1973. It was also Ferrari's original press car during the model's launch in 1968, too.
If you could buy an old banger graced by a celebrity's derriere, whose would it be?
