A Lib-eral approach
We’re expecting
a new Subaru Liberty to arrive in 2010, but before that – at the Detroit show
next month, in fact – we’ll see a concept previewing the next generation of the
rural favourite.
And it’ll look a bit like this. But, with any luck, a bit less shadowy and
steamy. But with the way things are doing in Detroit at the moment, we might
well be reduced to emergency lighting by the time we get out there.
Anyhow. Subaru loves a moody, backlit teaser… but what can we actually tell
about the new Liberty? Beyond that fact that it’ll be, y’know, a car… not a lot,
in truth.
We can ignore those tiny camera-wing-mirror things – they’ll definitely be off
– and look instead at those flared arches and deeper front splitter. Could be
interesting. Or could end up looking like the new Impreza. Oh dear.
We’ll find out more when we see the Liberty concept in the metal at Detroit next
month. It’ll be the stand with a bunch of farmers standing around and arrrr-ing
enthusiastically, we assume…
