Tesla, McLaren dealerships for Sydney
If you've invested wisely in resources shares, or you're just utterly loaded from a good day at the ponies, you're in luck. Electric sportster gurus Tesla is opening a dealership in Sydney in August, while iconic sportcar maker McLaren will follow suit next year.
The electric Lotus Elise-based Roadster has all but been cleared for sale locally, and the order bank is filling fast. won't leave you much change from $200k, though... it'll be able to be charged from a regular plug at home, or customers can get a sparkie to install a single-phase dedicated household-type plug that will cut charging times down to about four hours. At the moment there is one single streetside charging port in the entire Sydney basin, but hopefully this will change soon.

Meanwhile, Sydney will get one of the 35 worldwide McLaren shopfronts in 2011. Joining towns like Milan, Toronto and Singapore, McLaren hopes to sell about 100 MP4-12C supercars in the Pacific rim. What's a MP4-12C? Glad you asked...
