Weismann MF5 Roadster

Like the look of that Morgan Aero Supersports but fancy something a little more… Germanic?

Your prayers have been answered: German manufacturer Wiesmann is bringing a convertible version of its MF5 to the Frankfurt show next month.

It won’t be slow: the Roadster MF5 is powered by the same 425kW V10 found in the BMW M5 and M6. That means a 0-100km/h time of just under four seconds and a slightly scary top speed of 310km/h.

The MF5 is built around an aluminium monocoque, and gets proper side impact protection, ABS and an extendable rear wing for added stability.

It won’t be cheap, either: Wiesmann is quoting a price of 189,000 Euro. At least you get exclusivity: just 55 convertible MF5s will be built.

We don’t know exactly what it’ll look like – the photo you see above is of the previous generation MF4 Roadster – don’t expect much of a departure from Wiesmann’s retro, low-slung formula. We’ll get a good look at the Roadster in Frankfurt next month.
