Holden

Commodore

The range is a little hit and miss with Holden. The Aussie arm of the giant GM brand is famed for its family sedans but went backwards when it chose to build its popular Barina in Korea.

  • Barina

    Barina

    $13,690 - $17,990

Used to be a great little car, before production was shifted to Korea. Now they are pretty much Daewoos. Still sell like crazy though.

  • Colorado

    Colorado

    $17,990 - $47,990

A seemingly-unnecessary second Holden ute, especially considering how accomplished the brand's Ute model is.
The Colorado is a sexy thing though.

  • Commodore

    Commodore

    $32,990 - $57,290

Once an essential ingredient for any "typical'' Aussie family, the Commodore has taken a hit in the wake of soaring fuel prices and a resale value that reduces owners to tears. That said, still a quality, affordably family car.

  • Statesman

    Statesman

    $61,390 - $65,390

They've been ferrying our politicians around for years, but don't let that put you off. They remain a quality family car.

  • Ute

    Ute

    $28,990 - $46,990

Holden have hit a niche with the simply named Ute. A work car that the missus won't be embarrassed to be seen riding in.

  • Viva

    Viva

    $18,490 - $21,990

Don't. Just don't. Go for the Euro-built Astra. It is a much better option.
