Honda Accord overall verdict
Additional Info
-
Honda sell two Accords? If old people get confused in the supermarket, then their Honda dealer is going to be a sudoku puzzle for them.
A slightly poinless big mid-size car similar to the Accord Euro but not as good. Unless you really need the extra space of the US-market Accord, go for the Euro.
-
Comfort
This is where the big Accord beats the small(er) Accord. It's actually quite large for a mid-sizer so there's acres of space and the rides softer too.
-
Performance
Not as sprightly as the Euro. It's heavier and the 2.4-litre engine makes less power (136kW vs. 148). The V6 is the pick though, with that engine this car starts to make sense. It gobbles up the miles while not gobbling up petrol.

Cool
Your grandad will love it.
-
Quality
It's a Honda. Well put together and has a solid feel. Like all previous Accords, it's likely this one will outlast its original owners before becoming the P-platers second hand mid-sizer of choice.
-
Handling
Bigger and softer than the Euro, and feels it. Better than the Camry which is its closest competitor, but that's not saying much.
-
Practicality
It's big, with lots of space and a big boot, so yes. One of the most spacious mid-sizers, mostly because it's basically a large car.
-
Running costs
The residuals should be good, and being a Honda not much should go wrong. But it's thirsty no matter which engine you go for, but you might as well stomach the fuel bills and enjoy the V6's extra power.
