A rubbishy old bag of nails that has got away with it for far too long because the rest of the range used to be so crap. Due for replacement soon, let’s hope Hyundai pulls its finger out for the next one.

Comfort
There’s even less comfort than there is handling. Raspy engines, a bad ride, crappy gearbox and zero refinement. To make matters worse, if you’re six-foot or more your head’s going to be touching the roofline.

Performance
The Hyundai Tiburon is slow and rough, even in absurdly over-priced 2.7-litre V6 guise. It’s this or a Golf GTI, chaps. Not exactly a one to lose sleep over, is it?

Cool
The antithesis of cool, the Hyundai Tiburon is for people with absolutely no idea about what makes for a good car. The sort of people who like flip phones and Budweiser.

Quality
Sorely lacking in this generation of Hyundai, and still noticeable by its absence in this last facelift of the Tiburon, quality is something it’s never had a handle on.

Handling
For a car with sporting ambitions, the Hyundai Tiburon is comically ill-equipped to deal with the inevitable hurdle of steering and forward momentum. Imagine a drunk on a skateboard.

Practicality
A cramped two-seater that costs more than a decent hatchback but doesn’t drive as well? No, it’s not practical unless you’re upgrading from a tandem bicycle.

Running costs
If you buy the V6, it’ll guzzle petrol while you endure its general lack of poke, before kicking you in the jewels when you come to sell it for a fraction of its initial cost.
