You have to admire the marketing genius. BMW, with its reputation for build quality and dynamic excellence fully in play, reinvents the most brilliantly packaged car in history as... the worst packaged car of modern times. And yet still makes it a huge success. Terrific fun, but threatened by real estate agent overkill.

Clubman
$13,720 - $19,770
A folly, albeit a likeable one. Revisiting the original Mini's most useful hour, but without the usefulness. Shaped like a van, but with the load capacity of a shoebox.

Cooper
$31,100 - $53,300
Most talked about revival since Led Zeppelin, the new New Mini is a conundrum. Great to drive, well built and fun, but appallingly packaged and horribly common.
