Ford have revealed the first look at the new Territory, just a few days after revealing the first images of the final ever Falcon – and they’ve also unveiled the first image of the G6E Falcon.
As with the XR8 and XR6, the new look brings the Territory and G6E into line with Ford’s “global design DNA” – easing the transition to Ford Australia’s “import only” status by the end of 2016.
The Melbourne-based Ford design team has given the Territory a new grille and headlight styling.
More than 155,000 Territory SUVs have been sold since the nameplate launched in 2004.
“It consistently ranks as one of the best-sellers in its class and importantly for our customers, is the only Australian designed and engineered SUV,” says Ford CEO Bob Graziano.
Ford Territory customers will be able to choose from the proven six-cylinder petrol engine as well as the popular V6 TDCi engine, which currently accounts for more than half of all Territory sales.
Pricing, features and specifications of the new Falcon and Territory range will be revealed closer to launch, towards the end of 2014.
By 2017, Ford in Australia will have updated its entire lineup.
“We’ve only just started,” Graziano said. “With the arrival of the 2014 Falcon and Territory, we’re ramping up to enhance our product portfolio and provide a comprehensive range of vehicles that our customers value and desire. Among the vehicles arriving next year are the iconic Ford Mustang, all-new Mondeo and Everest SUV.”
