BRZ upgrade

File under “inevitable”: Toyota released the details of the mildly updated 86 late last month, now Subaru have revealed the identically updated BRZ. The one difference: the 86 GTS picked up a small price hike, while pricing for the BRZ remains the same, starting from $37,150.

The revised BRZ picks up revised suspension dampers, for improved handling over uneven roads. Cosmetic changes include the introduction of a “shark fin” shape radio antenna, while inside there is a frameless rear-view mirror, and the silver instrument panel highlights have been changed to faux carbon fibre.

Smart key technology is upgraded, and there are three new colours: crystal white pearl, ice silver metallic and WR blue pearl – the latter exclusive to Subaru.

Subaru’s Managing Director Nick Senior said: “BRZ has consistently received top marks for its suspension and the latest changes, which are unique to the model, will only add to the legend.”
