Good on you Shane, We have imported a Maxi Cosi PrioriFix car seat (http://maxi-cosi.com/products/car-seats/toddler/priorifix.aspx) for our 3-year old from the UK, as our car has the Iso Fix anchor rings. The reason why they are not authorised in Australia at the moment is (a) because the child seats don't have the top tether strap anchor and so don't pass the AS/NZ standards and (b) Aussie car makers would have to put the Iso Fix fixing points in their cars and they probably don't want to to add to their production costs.

I hear you Shane. The incredibly high incidence of incorrectly fitted Child Seats is a real worry. People should consider the SeatSnug (http://www.seatsnug.com.au) as an aid to getting it right. The SeatSnug replicates the 'Flexible' ISOFIX system by allowing you to cinch, or lock-in the lap belt section when installing Child Seats, and can continue to be used once the kids graduate to a Booster Seat. A great product that can be used from Child Seats through to Adults.
