It is no wonder that the these utes were rubbish against the Cat: they were way too small. The Nissan is a compact in the States. The boys need to go back and try again with some proper American iron. Next time use Ford F-350, Chevrolet 3500 HD, and Dodge Ram 3500. All are available with diesel engines in the mid 6-liter range, and can easily carry triple what your biggest could handle. Who knows, you might even be able to break the 1-cent barrier.

All those utes are not avaliable in australia. besides we have our own utes. we dont need "proper american iron" and seeing as this vid is from top gear australia... well makes sense. the problem is they were using the wrong utes. such as the ute i own. holds 1.9 tonne standard, with a Quad Cam V6, putting out 220kw. with 1meter high sides standard. that is what they should have been using. then if you get the "work horse" version which can hold 2.6tonne. well its a no brainer. who needs american? us aussies have just as good here. we also have the fastest utes in the world. nothing like cruising along in a Holden Maloo Ute, 375kw top speed of only 295km/h.
