As the clamour for Max Mosely's resignation grew, the United States added its considerable weight to the debate.
The public relations person for the American Automobile Asociation issued a pointed statement which cut to the chase. It state that Mosely's peccadilloes did nothing for the image of the organisation which he heads and he really ought to resign....

It's just as well F1 cars don't run on a Thursday. The noise would have severely disrupted the gossip tearing faster through the Sakhir paddock than Kimi Raikkonen on his way to a bit of R+R after a race...
