Yours Trulli

Jarno TrulliCouldn't help feeling sorry for Jarno Trulli, reading his quotes about watching the Ferraris testing at Bahrain as he thrashed around in his doggy Toyota, two seconds off their pace. "Looking at the behaviour of the Ferraris on the track is obviously depressing," he told Autosport.com.

"They can brake wherever they want to, but most of all they can accelerate wherever they want to. Good night, then. I feel the championship is over even before the start."

It got me thinking - there's talk of Fernando Alonso possibly joining Ferrari once his contract expires at Renault, but why would Ferrari court Alonso? Raikkonen is just as quick, has won a world championship for the Scuderia and is settling in for the long haul.

Alonso's Latin name and nature would suit the Prancing Horse, but surely the presence of Raikkonen wouldn't suit the Spaniard. We've seen how Alonso can get rattled by a fast team-mate, so why wouldn't he react the same towards Kimi?

Obviously, Massa has a place in the team, and because he's managed by Jean Todt's son, it's likely he'll hang around for a bit. And that's a shame, because I couldn't think of a better partner for Kimi at Ferrari than Trulli.

Come on, Luca, give Jarno a job. He's Italian, fantastically quick over a single lap to keep Kimi on his toes in qualifying, a brilliant racer on his day, and a massively experienced team player, one that tends to get on with the job and not get too involved in politics.

In my book, he's a more complete package than Massa, and he'd be more fired-up than the squinty-eyed Brazilian by racing for Ferrari.

It'll probably never happen, but it'd be great to see.
