Good night

Posted by Nick Trott at 2:00AM on Sunday 15 June, 2008 0 Comments

Late night Le MansUh oh, that was a biggie.

One of the Team Oreca Courage Judds has just crashed on the exit of the Porsche curves. We haven't seen a replay of the accident yet, just some grainy CCTV footage.

The driver, Marcel Fassler, was stretchered from the car but is thought to be talking. He's in the medical centre as I write this.

The accident caused a sudden burst of pit-stops.

Somehow, Audi's Allan McNish - running second - got caught out as the field spread out over the full length of the track, dropping nearly 50 seconds.

He's still second, but the leading Peugeot of Gene, Minassian and Villeneuve is currently lapping four seconds quicker than the Audi.

In LMPGT1, the 009 Aston leads the 63 Corvette by just 9 seconds, and that's after nearly 11 hours of racing!

The pit crews are getting some shut eye...
