BMW 1-Series M Coupe revealed on video
It’s the baby M car you’ve been badgering Internet forums about for years, and now it’s finally here.
BMW has released this new video showcasing - for the first time - the 1-Series M Coupe shorn of its camouflage and looking rather dandy.
BMW aren’t calling it the M1, because of course, that was their one and only supercar. But they are calling it the true, pure-blooded heir to the original geek-tastic E30 M3 of the 1980s. We’ll reserve judgment until we’ve driven it (watch this space), but be in no doubt it is a proper M car.
Headline stats include a 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight six engine pumping out 340bhp - a steroidal version of the 135i’s - chassis/brakes/rear diff like the current M3 and a kerb weight of 1,500kg; a veritable porker compared to the featherweight E30.
Click the video and then let us know - is this the M car you’ve been waiting for?
