Conventional car niches are just so… last minute, aren’t they? No, what you really need to complement your Agile! Fashionable! and Unique! lifestyle is a mini urban crossover cabriolet.

That’s right: Vauxhall has decided to shoehorn as many car genres into one small concept as possible. It’s called the Adam ‘Rocks’, and it will make its worldwide premiere at next month’s Geneva Motor Show.

It follows in the niche-busting footsteps of the Audi Crossover Cabriolet Concept and the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet and the Range Rover Evoque Cabrio. Of course, all three of those are giants next to this diddy little Vauxhall, which is 15mm taller and 20mm wider than the regular Adam city car, itself a mere pup in the big scheme of the car world.

Vauxhall reckons this urban mini crossover cabrio could open up a new segment in the industry. “It showcases how Adam’s unique personalisation could be taken one step further,” Vauxhall design director Malcolm Ward tells us. The design was inspired by ‘parkour’ athletes - the chaps who run around jumping off buildings and so forth - and “is just one possible answer to the question of how new development paths for this unique car could be forged”.

We’ll get proper pics at Geneva next month, but for now, have a scroll through these sketches and let us know if you’d be interested in the Adam Rocks.
