A small selection from the TG inbox

  1. Ford got in touch to tell us that its Police Interceptors have maintained segment sales leadership for 16 years straight. To celebrate, the company attached this marginally terrifying photograph of its sedan and utility models.

  2. Were you at the Kop Hill Climb last month? Neither were we, but the organisers got in touch to show us what went on. Think we’ll be getting tickets for next year…

  3. We’re confused. Barons auction house emailed to tell us that this real-life Matchbox van, built in 1937 as an advertising vehicle for England’s Glory matches, is up for sale. But aren’t Matchbox vans small-life versions of, er vans? We’re going for a lie down.

  4. OK, so we’ve already told you about Robert Kubica’s drive with Citroen in round one of the WRC, but we didn’t show you this picture. We can’t WAIT to see the former Renault F1 driver in a proper rally car…

  5. Our colleagues in the BBC newsroom got in touch to tell us that petrol prices continue to fall - they’ve dropped by 5.49p a litre between mid-September and mid-October, the biggest monthly reduction since prices fell 11.5p in November 2008. Let’s all buy one of these. 8.2-litres of front-wheel drive CONSUMPTION.

  9. “Now THAT’S what I call a turbo.”

  10. “Like fast British classics? I’ve got one. I’ve been tinkering with it for the last 10 years and it’s a real “built in the shed” British classic. But it has a twist. It runs a Rover V8 engine with a 1950’s supercharger from a GMC diesel engine…”
