Aston Martin news — New Aston flies hy’ - 2009

About once a month a design study emerges from deep in the cloisters of Coventry University, where young designers aim their pens at paper and come up with creations like this Aston Volare concept.
Don’t be fooled into thinking this is an official Aston Martin project, but we suspect it will have bleeped on the Gaydon radar - or ‘Gaydar’, as we like to think it’s known.
OK, so it looks like a stretched and squished Vantage with a hint of One-77, but it’s the science underneath that’s more important. Designer James Trim thinks a hydrogen fuel cell would work best in this concept, powering an electric motor while still sounding like an Aston should.
Sounds a touch ambitious. But if the Gaydar is working well, perhaps Aston could take James under its wing and give the project a kick in the right direction.
