Last Lambo Murcielago rolls off the line

  1. Wondering what that noise is? That, friends, is the sound of a rotund, overweight female warbling her chubby guts out. It’s over: the last ever Lamborghini Murcielago has rolled off the production line, and the fat lady has sung.

The ten-year reign of the cartoon supercar officially came to an end in Sant ‘Agata on 5 November, as production number 4,099 - an orange Murcielago SV - rolled out of the gates and to its new home in the custody of somebody Swiss.

Lamborghini made a mighty song and dance, and provided a selection of their most potent V12 supercars to accompany the orange SV out of the gates for its ‘last ride’, including a 350 GT, Miura, Countach and Diablo.

In salutation, we’ve cobbled together some pictures for you to ogle, and ogle them you must. Even as the last Murci wakes into life, Lamborghini is preparing for its ‘successor, a new automotive legend’…

  3. Richard Hammond in the desert. In a Lamborghini Murcielago 670-4 Super Veloce. Also known as ‘RuddyFastLambo’

  4. SV hits 62mph in 3.2 seconds and rockets up to 212mph, like a big fat orange blur.

  5. Monster rear wing helps downforce, increases grip, and is scientifically proven to make you a better, more powerful and more successful human being by 37 per cent.

  6. Richard Hammond, a full tank of fuel, empty roads and a 670bhp Lamborghini. Add them up to get telly heaven

  7. “Puny earth cars, look upon my majesty and weep. WEEP.”

  8. It was close, but the camel never stood a chance against the SV. Orange makes it go faster.

  13. Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster

  14. Top speed - 199mph. Still noisy. Will upset people in Knightsbridge.

  16. Models came with a trolley bag, suit carrier,
sports bag, briefcase, suitcase, gloves, driving shoes,
belt, wallet, key ring, beauty case, hat and a pair of jeans. Seriously.

  17. Lamborghini Murcielago LP650-4 Roadster

  18. 0-62mph in 3.4 seconds, 205mph top speed, four-wheel-drive, permanent genital-waving rights.
