Gallery: behind-the-scenes on this week’s show

  1. Well that was quick… We’ve just finished filming our last studio recording of Top Gear’s nineteenth season (the remaining episodes will be our first ever two-part special, as the boys head to Africa to find the source of the Nile).

But panic not. We employed our guile, our cunning, and our VIP security passes to bring you some extra pics from the goings on at Dunsfold studio. This week includes Jeremy and Richard’s solution to transporting OAPs, James gives the splendid new Range Rover a thoroughly thorough going-over in America, and guess who we’ve got on the show? Only blimmin’ James McAvoy! The actual Mr Tumnus!

You’ll have to tune into BBC Two or BBC HD at 8:00pm on Sunday for the rest…

  2. That’s not terminal suspension failure - it’s James McAvoy and all the power a Kia cee-apostrophe-dee can summon…

  3. Our guest ponders life’s big questions. Cheese and onion or prawn cocktail?

  4. Despite falling by the cultural wayside nearly ten years ago, Jeremy still nurses a fondness for Crazy Frog.

  5. Jeremy’s offer of free hugs didn’t generate much interest

  6. When Jeremy’s naughty, we keep him in this little box.

  7. “No no no, it’s little fish, big fish, cardboard box”.

  8. Delays on the A3 just outside Guildford slightly affected audience numbers this week.

  9. James slyly reveals his rock paper scissors hand to the audience.

  11. “So you’re saying there’s NO fire on this week’s show? Seriously?”

  12. “These aren’t the droids you’re looking for”
