Yes, ladies and gentlemen, on Sunday
Jeremy, Richard and James return to Africa for the first time since our trip to
Botswana. The mission? To find the real source of the Nile, and go down in
history. In three cars worth less than £1500…

(And for this first time ever on Top Gear, this year’s special is in two one-hour episodes. Which means we’re
going to be able to intone “PREVIOUSLY ON TOP GEAR” at the start of part two. We’re
quite looking forward to that bit.)

We’ll see you Sunday as usual at 8pm on BBC
Two and BBC HD for part one of the most fun trips we’ve ever undertaken. And in the
meantime, here’s just the smallest peek behind-the-scenes at filming…

  2. It slowly dawns on James: the source of the
Nile is actually rather a long way away

  3. The Rwandan branch of the Hammond fan club hold their inaugural meeting

  4. “Hmmmm. It really is quite a long way, isn’t it?”

  5. Jeremy attempts to thumb a lift out of the
    Ugandan traffic

  6. It was very hot in Uganda

  7. “We’re getting nearer chaps!”

  8. Africa. A truly beautiful place
