In marketing, the holy grail is an ‘unmet need’. People want
something, it isn’t out there, so when you provide it, you’ve hit the jackpot.
Nothing much beyond basic food, shelter, warmth and human company is actually a
need, it’s more of a want, but marketers do exaggerate. But, back in 2004, the
Mercedes CLS certainly found an unmet need.
