It's the UKs biggest and most accurate independent driver satisfaction survey there is - here's how it works
First thing to say is that if you can't find your motor listed in the dropdowns, here's why: the Top Gear Survey doesn't list results for every car - in order for the results to be fair, we only feature cars with certain size of sample group. So, if it's not in the dropdown, it's not in the survey. Sorry.
Here's how the rest of it works. Each of the 56,000 Top Gear viewers and readers who took part in the Top Gear Survey this year were asked to reveal how every aspect of the car ownership experience matched up to the expectations they had when they first took delivery of their vehicle.
'Data analysis experts checked personal data and registration numbers to avoid faked entries'
Each car is given an overall satisfaction score out of 100. This is made up from:
Build quality (22%)
Craftsmanship (22%)
Driving experience (19%)
Ownership costs (17%)
Service received (20%)
This time, owners of cars bearing 03, 53, 04 and 54 registrations are included. To guarantee a true result for each, data analysis experts Experian once again checked personal data and registration numbers to avoid faked entries.
They also ensured a minimum of 50 verified responses were received for each model before the results could be published - cars with less than that, as we said, you won't find.
