I'm a celebrity cut me out of here

Fame and fortune awaits those prepared to take risks. But so do lamp posts, ditches, other cars and Top Gear staffers...

Ever since James Dean lobbed his Porsche with fatal results, there's been an inevitable sense of potential doom lingering over every rich, famous young man with a powerful motor at his disposal.

Just last month the Mercedes SLR McLaren owned by 'Prince' Naseem Hamed was involved in a spectacular accident that saw the McMerc stuffed at a predicted repair cost in excess of £200k.

Ian Wright's Ferrari 360 Spider wallop looks relatively tame with just an estimated repair cost of £30k on the £110k car, and you don't even have to be in it to win it - one of Jay Kay's acquaintances managed to write off his £180k purple Lamborghini Diablo SE30 for him on Park Lane.

Luckily for Jay, his record company bosses at Sony replaced the (at the time) ultra-rare 'Anniversary' edition car at their expense.

But it's not always the star's fault. Poor old England keeper David Seaman was accelerating through a motorway services when, unexpectedly, a car pulled out in front of him, resulting in a rear-ender that remodelled the nose of his shiny new Jaguar XK8.

The irony? The car in front was being driven by a Top Gear work experience woman.
