"After five long years of real hands-on hard work, hammering down with metalsmiths and engine specialists and stunning squirters of candied paint, the Eliminator Coupe was seeing light at the end of a long tunnel. It was Hot-Rod."

The follow-up car was the dramatic CadZZilla, a lean, low, menacing beast carved from the body of a '48 Cadillac Sedanette, and built by visionary custom designer Boyd Coddington.

"CadZZilla was quite the crazy outing," says Gibbons. "One never specialists and stunning squirters of candied paint, the Eliminator Coupe was seeing light at the end of a long tunnel. It was Hot-Rod."


'To make a real impact a car needs an entourage, so Gibbons decided to build two custom bikes'

The follow-up car was the dramatic CadZZilla, a lean, low, menacing beast carved from the body of a '48 Cadillac Sedanette, and built by visionary custom designer Boyd Coddington. "CadZZilla was quite the crazy outing," says Gibbons.

"One quite knows just how deep one might be getting. Sort of like building a house, I can guarantee you a rather liberal window of spending. It was the best part of 900,000 US dollars."

Of course, to make a real impact a car needs an entourage, so Gibbons decided to build two custom bikes after a chance meeting with the Harley-Davidson crew in the Minneapolis airport.
