TransAm non-stop: leg two

Leg two gets under way. Tom Ford's behind the wheel of the XKR and topping 150mph on quiet, police-free roads

10h 50m
Leg two begins - after only one minute's rest. Indianapolis to Oklahoma City is 741 miles. I really need to do this inside seven hours to keep us near the record. Don't even want to think about how quick that'll be.

13h 23m
Been driving for about 2.5 hours now and my first leg feels quite easy. Hit some irritating roadworks, but not much to report other than that.

Really quite boring out here. No cops, no scenery and some 150mph runs have made it all quite surreal. Alex grabbed some pics of the speedo (and is doing some typing for me) - at some serious speed. Hope we don't get stopped.

We've stopped just outside a town called Springfield for fuel. D'oh!

MH and Pat are refuelling the XKR while Alex and I take a break, and I type this on the dash while everyone rushes around.

I've grabbed some sort of weird cheese and bread-type thing and two more cans of Monster Assault. Just been for a piss and my wee is bright yellow. And it smells of boiled sugar.

Alex likes to sleep. It makes it very hard for me to keep awake. I have been singing. Alex has slept through it. He's not human.

Anyway, back to it. Sending reports is harder when I'm driving. More later when we stop again.

15h 13m
Alex has been asleep and I've had no one to talk to. Cops seem uninterested in me. Start referring to myself as 'Teflon Tom'. But then realise that I'm referring to myself, to myself. I have given myself a nickname. I am a very sad, bored man.
